CHANGI IS BACK AGAIN TO THE BEST AIRPORT IN THE WORLD

Finally, our beloved airport got back the title she lost last year. The management worked hard to regain the title and will have to work harder to keep the title for the next year.

MY QUESTION IS THAT SHOULD WE BE TOO ENGAGED AND BOTHERED TO IMPROVE ,OUR PRODUCTIVITY AND GOOD SERVICE BECAUSE THERE IS THE AWARD TO UP HOLD?
THIS SHOULD BE AN ON GOING PROCESS ,REGARDLESS OF THE AWARD OR NOT.

WE SHOULD ALL LEARN FROM THE PETROL SERVICE ATTENDANT WHOSE WORK IS CONSISTENTLY POLITE , HAPPY AND HELPFUL.
THEY DESERVED THE AWARD OF THE INDUSTRY WITH THE MOST CONSISTENT SERVICE STANDARD.

BY THE WAY,MOST OF THESE ATTENDANTS ARE FOREIGN WORKERS FROM CHINA.

NOT LONG AGO THEY WERE USUALLY THE SINGAPOREAN UNCLE AND AUNTIE, RUDE UNPRODUCTIVE AND POORLY DISCIPLINED.

This bowl of Kuching Laksa was bought from the hawker centre @ Ang Mo Kio ave 10 Block 527 #01-114 Cheng San Hawker centre. It is called Tracy's SARAWAK KITCHEN and was set up by a Sarawakian lady married to a Singaporean man.

This bowl of laksa with prawns,eggs and the usual lemak only cost $2.50. It tastes great according to my son. I can not eat it because I am a vegetarian.
The lady intends to sell, Kuching KOLO mee soon as she had found the supplier of the mee in Singapore.

Her MOTTO is to sell all sarawak cuisine at affordable prices.

GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW I CAN BRING ALL MY FRIENDS AND RELATIVES TO TASTE OUR HOME TOWN FAVORITES AT LESS COST.

THIS OLD LADY HAD A SHAVE AND IS LOOKING VERY NAKED BUT COMFORTABLE.

RECENTLY SHE HAD AN OPERATION TO REMOVE WARTS FROM HER BODY INCLUDING A HUGE TUMOR FROM THE RIGHT UPPER EYELID.

SHE IS SO BRAVE AND WAS BACK TO HER MODEST NATURE IN NO TIME.

HER SHE IS, IN THIS PHOTO, ENJOYING LIFE FOR THE LAST 17 YEARS.........AND ADDING IN THE YEARS AHEAD TOO......

ARE WE PREPARED TO GIVE UP OUR COMFORT AND CHANGE THIS WASTEFUL NATURE OF OUR SO CALLED MODERN LIVING?

MANY WILL FIND IT HARD AND OUR HABITS WILL TAKE OVER OUR SENSES AFTER ALL.

TO ME IT IS NOT ABOUT JUST CUTTING DOWN THE USE OF ELECTRICITY FOR A FEW HOURS A YEAR BUT DOING IT EVERY DAY AND BE CONSCIOUS OF OUR ACTIVITY.

JUST SHARING A LIGHT MOMENT WITH YOU ALL.

I heard of this story last night on radio.
An old man had a horse he like very much and adored. One rainy night the horse went missing and the villagers were so worried that they went to his home to console him. To their surprise he looked the least worried and even said that it may not be a bad thing.

Sure enough, the horse came back a few months later with and few more horses. The villagers were so happy for him and went to his home to congratulate him. Once again ,he told them that it may not be so good. The villagers were most surprised and wondered why again.

A while later, his son broke his leg trying to ride the horses
and he was just as happy about it. He once again surprised the villagers by saying that it may not be that bad.

Shortly later, all the young men from the village was conscripted into the army for war by the war lords. His son was not conscripted because of his broken leg. This saved his son from death.

SO FRIENDS EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON AND OFTEN WHAT IS DEEMED BAD OR GOOD MAY NOT NECESSARY BE SO LATER.

THONG CHAI CHARITY MEDICAL FOUNDATION DONATION

On the 21/03/10, I watched the above show expecting it to be like any of the charity shows. Scripted and very well acted in many ways.
But last night was a big difference as I cried and was overwhelmed by the emotions it generated. I think most who watched the show felt the same way as the donations was one of the biggest in history.
Jackie Chan was fantastic and he was responsible for the great success of the show.
I was most touched by the moving story of the lady who was reduced to almost a vegetable as a result of an accident.
Her gradual improvement was the result of the work of the care givers both at the center and at home.

I was overwhelmed by the show of GRATITUDE and thanks by the lady who tried so hard to thank all especially her mum. Every words of thanks dig deep into my heart and tears felt like rain from me.

I was deeply touched by the fact that I must thank GOD for my health and mental well being.
I was ashamed that I have often taken fore granted everything that my family,friends,society and country had provided all this times.

A HEART OF GRATITUDE IS THE WAY TO CONTENTMENT AND THE ONLY WAY TO HAPPINESS. GREAT IS THE POWER OF LOVE AND GREATER IS THE FEELING OF GRATITUDE.

A LEADER WITH WISDOM AND WHO LEAD BY EXAMPLE!!!!!!!

China had suffered over the past centuries being ravaged by wars,natural disaster, internal conflicts, bullied by the western world even now and looked down by most of the world including some singaporean. The time have changed and the rising might of China is being felt both economically and politically. All this is made possible by the grace of heaven who had blessed this great country with humble and yet practical leaders.

Premier WEN JIAPAO is a typical leader that is both humble and gracious. Firm and gentle, wise and able to touch the heart of the masses.
He is able to identify the problems and try with all mights to solve them. More so he lead by example.

Today I read in the paper ,this humble and touching incident in China----demonstrated by the Premier.
He visited a county, Lutiang in the province of yunnan which was ravaged by the effect of climate change and human activities.
Droughts had brought disaster to this area and during the visit he was offered a drink of tea. He rejected the offer and said he is not able to drink as this is the last few drops of the precious water from the county. How could I accept it!!!
Such grace. This showed all that--------------- GREAT LEADERS LEAD BY EXAMPLE AND NOT BY GIVING GREAT SPEECHES ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am amazed by the out pouring of views on the Jack Neo's Saga and I was disheartened by how quick people made up their their mind and used their own stand on morality to judge him. I am not saying that he is right or he is wrong but he should be given all the support from all levels of society, both man and woman to change and be good.
It is only through help and support that we can help him. Negativity and condemnations will not help but drive him to a point of no return.
BEFORE WE JUDGE HIM LET US ASK OURSELVES ARE WE THAT GOOD, MORALLY????? DIDN'T JESUS TAUGHT US THAT THE FINAL JUDGEMENT IS THROUGH GOD? DIDN'T HE SHOWED US BY ASKING THE MASSES-----WHO AMONG US THAT DO NOT SIN, BE THE FIRST TO THROW THE STONE AGAINST THE SINNER..(BIBLE)

CNY IN KUCHING---14/02/10 TO 18/02/10

I visited Kuching to celebrate the new year with my friends and family members. It was a short trip but a very memorable one.

We stayed at PULLMAN HOTEL behind the house of the late Datuk Wee Hood Teck and the hotel was new and very nice.
We were treated to 2 nights of 20 minutes of fire works by the family of the late, Datuk Wee. whose house was just behind the hotel.

I met up with Khoon Haw and we had a great tme catching up with life and other stories.
We grew up together spending our school lives in St Joseph School and I always remembered him as my protector against bullies and a forever great friend. Thought we parted and our life are very different now, we are still very much united at heart and we respected and acknowledged our differences.
I am glad he had a wonderful family and a follower of the great conscience.

My family all got together as a result of our presence and we were so happy that we can have the opportunity to meet up.
WE ARE PLANNING FOR A GRAND REUNION NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HUGE PANDAN TREE @ SERANGOON GARDEN

THIS HUGE TREE WAS FOUND IN A HOUSE AT SERANGOON GARDEN. THE LEAVES ARE THORNY AND WILL HAVE TO BE WASHED, SCALED WITH HOT WATER BEFORE IT CAN BE USED FOR THE MAKING OF MEAT DUMPLING.

SHORTLY AFTER I TOOK THIS PICTURE THE TREE WAS CUT DOWN AS THE HOUSE WAS BEING DEVELOPED.

THIS PLANT USED TO GROW WILD IN THE JUNGLES OF SOUTH EAST ASIA AND IN MY HOME TOWN OF KUCHING WE USED TO GO INTO THE FORREST TO CUT THE LEAVES FOR THE MAKING OF THE DUMPLING.

DINNER @ TURF CLUB --INVITATION BY NETS

A VISIT TO WORLD RESORT SENTOSA

Last week on the 2/03/10, i paid a visit to WRS at around 10pm. It was surprising night and I think I will not be visiting it again.

Upon arrival we proceeded to the counter to pay the gov't levy of $100 and the ic was scanned.

Entry into the casino was tightly controlled and the ic was scanned twice before we were allowed to enter.

The atmosphere was great and the decor was modern and very trendy.
Surprisingly the casino was only 1/3 opened and even then it was only 40% full ie the opened section of the casino. We proceeded to the upper floor to check out the restricted are. Here our Genting card was checked and the ic was scanned twice before we can enter. Here the casino was only 1/4 opened and the crowd was even more miserable. There was a free buffet of porridge and noodles were sold at $6 per bowl.
We stayed and played the jackpot machines and by 5 hours later we lost interest and we headed home. The same procedure was repeated on the way out.
I LEFT THE CASINO FEELING MORE LIKE A VISIT TO A PRISON, TOTALLY HUMILIATED AND PUZZLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
